It was the closest Florida Atlantic running back Devin “Motor” Singletary has come to patting himself on the back.
The quiet Singletary normally refrains from complimenting his efforts on the field. When asked Monday if he was worthy to be mentioned among Heisman Trophy candidates, he was somewhat more forthcoming than usual.
“Do I feel like I deserve [consideration]?,” Singletary said. “In a way, I guess.”
Singletary is quietly putting together a season that should at least merit some consideration. After scoring four touchdowns and rushing for 244 yards against Western Kentucky, a few FAU staffers and players began to campaign him for Heisman on social media.
