Florida Atlantic star shortstop Tyler Frank, closer Zach Schneider each honored on national award lists

BOCA RATON — Even after signing his first professional contract with the Tampa Bay Rays, the accolades keep coming for former Florida Atlantic shortstop Tyler Frank.

A former star shortstop at American-Heritage who was taken in the second-round of last week’s MLB Draft, Frank earned three national awards on Wednesday. Frank was named to the First-Team All-Central Region by ABCA/Rawlings after hitting .300 with 20 doubles, 13 home runs, 35 RBI, and 52 walks in his junior season. Frank was also honored as a second-team All-American by D1Baseball.com and an honorable mention to Perfect Game’s All-American team.

Frank, 21, was named to the All-Conference USA team and took home C-USA Defensive Player of the Year last month.
