Florida Atlantic running back Devin Singletary named to Walter Camp Award watch list

BOCA RATON — The final college football award watch list features a familiar name for FAU fans, as junior running back Devin Singletary (American Heritage) was one of 50 players named to the Walter Camp preseason watch list on Friday.

Singletary, 20, ran for 1,920 rushing yards and an FBS-best 32 rushing touchdowns – the third-highest total in Division I history behind only Barry Sanders (37 in 1987) and Montee Ball (33 in 2011) last season. Both totals were the highest for a single-season in FAU history and pushed Singletary to the top of the program’s rushing touchdowns list, passing two-time NFL Pro Bowler Alfred Morris’ 27.
