Florida Atlantic’s 2017-18 basketball season, possibly along with the tenure of fourth-year head coach Michael Curry, have both ended following an 83-72 loss to the UAB Blazers in the first round of the Conference USA tournament.
FAU (6-12 in C-USA, 12-19 overall) trailed 40-30 after the first 20 minutes and only made the score closer when UAB (10-8, 20-12) began to pull some of their starters late in the second half. In his final collegiate game, Owls center Ronald Delph scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Payton Hulsey and Justin Massey combined for 26 points on 8-of-21 shooting, with Hulsey dishing out five assists.
