Florida Atlantic fired wide receivers coach Gary Harrell following Saturday night’s 27-24 loss to Charlotte at FAU Stadium, according to multiple sources.
Harrell was let go after the Owls finished the year 5-7 and had a season filled with promise end without a postseason bowl game berth on Saturday. They lost to the 49ers on a 56-yard field goal with 25 seconds remaining.
An FAU spokesperson was reached on Sunday and said they had not heard of Harrell’s dismissal.
Harrell first joined FAU in January 2017 after the Owls hired Lane Kiffin as head coach in December of 2016.
