In Saturday's 31-27 loss to Ball State, Florida Atlantic allowed Cardinals quarterback Riley Neal to rush for a game-high 74 yards, the second straight week the Owls were gashed by opposing quarterbacks.
Neal also ran for two touchdowns (of 1 and 2 yards) against FAU and threw for another off a run-pass option. Kansas State quarterbacks ran for 96 yards and three touchdowns the week before.
This weekend, Florida International will provide another test with quarterback Maurice Alexander, who is averaging 8.4 yards per carry. He made his first career start last week against UCF and split time with Alex McGough.
