FAU's Lane Kiffin, Antonyo Woods hope 'dead snap' can solve snapping issues

Following a trio of poor snaps in Florida Atlantic’s season-opening 42-19 loss to Navy on Friday night, the Owls are trying to fix their snapping woes by adopting a new technique championed by schools like Michigan and Vanderbilt.

It’s called “the dead snap” and Owls coach Lane Kiffin hopes it can cure Antonyo Woods’ snapping issues in the first game of the season.

There was an article this summer about it, Michigan going with that and how many people have started doing it,” Kiffin said. “There is another way. We had worked that when this had been an issue in the spring.
