After his coaches, his teammates and even the water coolers left Florida Atlantic practice Wednesday morning, Dillon DeBoer remained on the field.
DeBoer needed to adjust to his new position at left tackle, where he was shifted from center this weekend after Reggie Bain's season ended. DeBoer had to practice his new two-point stance. He needed to be more vertical in his pass protection. He needed to regain the "tackle mindset," he said.
DeBoer, a redshirt senior, played both tackle and guard previously for FAU before sticking at center last season. He was named to the preseason Rimington Trophy watch list, an award given to the nation's top center.
