Four years later, Florida Atlantic defensive end Trey Hendrickson can be honest about it.
When he arrived on campus as a freshman, he was hardly an eager youngster looking to soak up the knowledge from the veterans. There was no finding an experienced player to lean on. No interest in words of wisdom from his elder peers.
Hendrickson thought he knew it all. There was no need for any guidance.
"I came in telling everybody I was going to break their records," Hendrickson said. "I wasn't the nicest freshman. I didn't really listen to leadership very well.
