FAU pass defense struggles in loss to Old Dominion

During Saturday's 42-24 loss to Old Dominion, Florida Atlantic gave up a season-high 416 passing yards to the Monarchs. It was the most passing yards allowed since last season's opener against Tulsa.

The Monarchs had seven different players catch a pass as quarterback David Washington completed 26 of 36 passes, including five touchdowns. He was named Conference USA's Offensive Player of the Week.

Receivers Zach Pascal (nine catches, 178 yards and a touchdown) and Jonathan Duhart (eight catches, 72 yards and three touchdowns) frustrated the Owls as part of a receiving corps that FAU coach Charlie Partridge said was arguably the best in the conference.
