For coach Lane Kiffin, Florida Atlantic’s offense gave away too many plays during its season-opening 42-19 loss to Navy on Friday night. There were miscommunications between quarterback and receiver, plus execution errors that took the defense out of the equation.
“The frustrating thing to me was there were so many plays the defense didn’t do anything,” Kiffin said. “Guys are going to make plays on defense. But we just hurt ourselves.”
Twice, quarterback Daniel Parr threw a pass behind receiver DeAndre McNeal because they weren’t on the same page.
