BOCA RATON — Grey skies and the threat of rain loomed over FAU’s practice field on Monday but neither could quell the enthusiasm among 100 plus players or inhibit the spirited vocal commands of position coaches on both sides of the ball.

With less than three weeks remaining until the Owls kick off their season with the home opener against Southern Illinois, coach Charlie Partridge is pleased with what he has seen thus far but knows much work still needs to be done.

“The guys are holding each other accountable. I have seen progress every single day but we still have a long way to go,” said the third-year coach after FAU’s third team practice.
