FAU names captains, rewards three walk-ons with scholarships before meeting fans

At 3:40 p.m. on Sunday in Section 134 of FAU Stadium, the image of Florida Atlantic's season took shape. The Owls trekked into the bleachers above the south end zone clad in red jerseys and pants, forming the third incarnation of the team under coach Charlie Partridge.

It was a simple team photo that concluded the program's annual RedHot Meet and Greet that drew an estimated 2,300 fans to the stadium. But a closer look revealed more.

There was defensive end Trey Hendrickson and center Dillon DeBoer, in the first row, seated next to each other.
