Shortly after Tuesday’s season-ending victory against Akron in the Boca Raton Bowl, the Florida Atlantic Owls received even more good news.
Linebacker and team captain Azeez Al-Shaair announced to the team that he plans to return for his senior season instead of testing the NFL waters. According to NFLdraftscout.com, he is the No. 62-rated outside linebacker.
“I know some people were trying to get him to come out but he’s going to come back,” FAU coach Lane Kiffin said. “So that’s good. We’ve got a great team coming back.”
Last week Al-Shaair said he would evaluate his options once the season ends.
