Florida Atlantic president John Kelly said the school discovered nothing connecting new Owls offensive coordinator Kendal Briles to the sexual assault scandal at Baylor before hiring him.
“We didn’t find anything that we would be concerned about at that time,” Kelly said Tuesday morning.
Kelly — who attended FAU’s first spring football practice of the season — spoke publicly about Briles for the first time since Briles was named in a lawsuit against Baylor in January. In the suit, Briles allegedly pitched recruits by saying white women at Baylor loved football players.
