After showing promise as a freshman, running back Trey Rodriguez's career at FAU is over.
The school announced Tuesday that Rodriguez was dismissed from the team for a violation of team rules. Last year Rodriguez led the team with five rushing touchdowns.
"He failed to abide by the standards we require and failed to meet the necessary obligations to be a member of the team," the school said in a statement.
FAU offered no further comment. The news ends a rocky relationship. Rodriguez was suspended the first four games of last season due to an undisclosed violation.
