Florida Atlantic will slightly adjust its schedule on Thanksgiving Day to allow the players to celebrate the holiday.
The Owls will practice earlier in the day and then follow with a "really nice meal" at FAU Stadium, coach Charlie Partridge said. After that, many of the local South Florida players and assistant coaches will invite out-of-town players over for the afternoon.
"We have so many local players, what tends to happen is a lot of our out-of-town guys will eat a great meal there in the stadium, and they'll go home with a teammate and eat another great meal and then probably order a pizza at 10 o'clock," Partridge joked on Monday.
