With Marshall (5-2 overall, 3-1 C-USA) bottling up Singeltary, FAU had no answers. Singletary gained just 44 yards on 16 carries as the Owls (3-4, 1-2) threw four interceptions, lost a fumble, missed two field goals, failed to convert a fourth down at their own 13 and dropped numerous passes in front of a Herd homecoming crowd of 23,825.
