Fans who turned out early Saturday to see Florida Atlantic's spring game at FAU Stadium may have left believing they know who will be the Owls' starting quarterback when they open their season on Sept. 3 against Southern Illinois.
Incumbent Jason Driskel enjoyed a clear statistical advantage over Daniel Parr, throwing for 101 yards more than his redshirt freshman rival as the two alternated series leading the Owls' first unit that wore Red jerseys. However, coach Charlie Partridge quickly tamped down any speculation that Driskel's performance may have vaulted him to the lead in the competition.
