To find television stars, Florida Atlantic’s football team simply has to look at its sidelines.
With Friday’s release of the second season of “Last Chance U” on Netflix, a trio of current Owls appear in the acclaimed series that follows the football program at East Mississippi Community College. Quarterback De’Andre Johnson, defensive end Tim Bonner and tight ends coach Clint Trickett all appear in the second season, which has eight roughly hour-long episodes.
Trickett coached quarterbacks (including Johnson) at EMCC before taking a job at FAU. Johnson enrolled for the spring semester in Boca Raton while Bonner was part of the Owls’ February signing class.
