Cody Wilson, Kyle Marman headline Florida Atlantic baseball players drafted in MLB Draft’s third day

BOCA RATON — The 13th round of this week’s MLB Draft proved to be anything but unlucky for Florida Atlantic outfielder Cody Wilson and starting pitcher Kyle Marman, as the juniors were taken by the Washington Nationals and Cleveland Indians, respectively.

A former star at Jupiter High who began his collegiate career at Palm Beach State, Wilson was taken with the 401st overall pick after hitting .285 with a team-best 14 home runs, 41 RBI, and 12 doubles in his first season with the Owls. Wilson also stole 19 bases in 21 attempts and played a strong center field, highlighted by a sensational diving catch against FIU in last month’s Conference USA tournament.
