The fourth annual Boca Raton Bowl will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 19 at 7 p.m., bowl organizers announced Wednesday afternoon. It will be televised on ESPN.
The bowl game, played at Florida Atlantic’s on-campus stadium, will feature teams from the American Athletic Conference and Conference USA. Last year’s game pitted Conference USA champion Western Kentucky against Memphis from the AAC. Western Kentucky won, 51-31.
The Boca Raton Bowl has been a desirable destination for Group of 5 programs since its inception. Its pre-Christmas date, warm climate and fertile recruiting grounds have attracted some of the best mid-major programs not playing in a New Year’s Six bowl game.
