Florida Atlantic quarterback De’Andre Johnson was admitted into surgery last week for two blood clots in his arm, according to a Facebook post by his father.
Johnson did not travel to Madison, Wis., for FAU’s 31-14 loss to No. 10 Wisconsin on Saturday and was still in the hospital on Monday, according to Owls coach Lane Kiffin. Kiffin did not say whether Johnson would play again this season.
“It was pretty scary,” Kiffin said.
After Saturday’s game, Kiffin said Johnson did not travel because of a medical condition, but did not elaborate on Johnson’s absence.
