American Heritage-Plantation offensive lineman Robert Hawkins committed to Florida Atlantic, he announced on Twitter on Tuesday night.
Hawkins is listed as a three-star prospect by 247 Sports and had other reported offers from UCF, Temple, Rutgers and Appalachian State. He becomes the third offensive lineman of the Owls class, all from Broward or Palm Beach counties (also St. Thomas Aquinas’ B.J. Etienne and Oxbridge’s Robert Holmes).
Hawkins (6-foot-4, 265 pounds) adds immediate depth to a position group that was decimated by injuries last year. FAU started eight different offensive lines in its first eight games.
