After consistency last season, Florida Atlantic enters 2018 season with competition at both guard positions

BOCA RATON — If there are any doubts about the value of a strong and consistent offensive line, let the 2016 and 2017 Florida Atlantic Owls each present their cases and medical reports.

Plagued by injuries, the 2016 Florida Atlantic Owls started nine different offensive line combinations in the team’s first nine games and only had one player, the versatile Dillon DeBoer, start every game. Last season, FAU started the same five offensive linemen each game: Brandon Walton and Reggie Bain at tackle, Jakobi Smith and Roman Fernandez (Seminole Ridge) at guard, and Antonyo Woods (Seminole Ridge) at center.
