After accident, walkers and screws, OL Reggie Bain returns to Owls

Reggie Bain was secluded on some Saturdays last fall. In a fifth-floor hospital room and in an outpatient rehabilitation center, on a walker and on crutches, the Florida Atlantic offensive lineman was detached from the Owls football team.

Grounded by a broken hip suffered in an August motor scooter accident, Bain was left in South Florida as the team traveled to road games, his only connection to the team through the ESPN app and FAU’s radio broadcast. After games, Bain would watch the game film, knowing he would not play in 2016.

But the film filled the void the accident created.
