Why don't more athletes play both football and soccer? The rare breeds who do both explain

Heading into this soccer season, Arlington Lamar coach Saroeurn Soeun needed a backup goalkeeper. Fortunately, he knew who to call.

Soeun used to coach freshman football. Back then he had a receiver, Jaylen Jones, who was an incredible athlete. Jones used to joke about giving soccer a chance. Now a senior and a Southern Nazarene signee, Jones recorded a combined 850 rushing/receiving yards and 11 touchdowns this fall on the football team.

He didn't expect it when Soeun called and told him to come to soccer tryouts. He hadn't played soccer since the fifth grade.

Months later, Jones stepped in when Lamar's starter went down.
