USWNT wastes no time establishing itself vs. Jamaica, clinches Women's World Cup berth with 6-0 win in Frisco

FRISCO -- The United States is going to France.

With a 6-0 win Sunday over Jamaica at Toyota Stadium, the U.S. women's soccer team qualified for a spot in next summer's Women's World Cup in France.

The victory that put the Americans through came in a semifinal of the CONCACAF Women's Championship, the tournament that serves as the Women's World Cup qualifier for teams from North America, Central America and the Caribbean.

In the other semifinal, Canada rolled past Panama 7-0, setting up a title match at 7 p.m. Wednesday between the region's two top teams and biggest rivals.
