It looks like the Jesse Gonzalez era with FC Dallas is officially coming to an end.
The Athletic is reporting on Thursday that Major League Soccer has terminated his contract. Gonzalez will be eligible to sign for a team outside MLS as a free agent.
All of this comes on the heels of a suspension earlier this summer after a report to the Frisco Police Department alleging incidents of domestic abuse. MLS announced it would conduct an independent investigation into the incident and the Dallas homegrown proactively entered the league’s substance abuse and behavioral health program.
