Wayne Rooney was so close to goal number 54 in his 120th and final appearance for England. Watching Rooney's second-half cameo you'd be forgiven for thinking "How could he retire when he looks good enough to go on to Euro 2020?". You could also be forgiven for watching Bobby Wood play and thinking "How does he get paid to do this?".

One player who was at Wembley but didn't see the field was FC Dallas' Reggie Cannon. The Dallas Beer Guardians released a video of Cannon receiving their player of the year award.
