The Oklahoma City Energy FC has re-signed midfielder Daniel Jackson for the 2017 season, pending USL and U.S. Soccer Federation approval.
Jackson, 27, has an enormous pedigree within lower division American soccer. The Pittsburgh native played his college soccer at Cumberland University and Coker College. While in college, Jackson made appearances for USL PDL clubs Kalamazoo Outrage and FC Jax Destroyers. In addition, the 27-year-old forward made eight appearances for D.C. United’s U-23 squad in the NPSL, where he scored eight goals.
After leaving college, Jackson entered the MLS SuperDraft. Picked 70th overall in the fourth round by the Real Salt Lake, Jackson was unable to earn a contract with the club.
