Kellyn Acosta has surgery; Expected to be out for six to eight weeks

FC Dallas and US Men's National Team midfielder, Kellyn Acosta, has today undergone surgery to repair a sports hernia.

The procedure was carried out in Philadelphia after the hernia kept Acosta sidelined for parts of preseason, most notably seeing him subbed off in the 2-1 win over Portland on Saturday.

FC Dallas have estimated a six to eight week recovery, which seems likely to rule the homegrown player out of Dallas' four game home stand to start the MLS season, in addition to the return leg in the CONCACAF Champions' League and both legs of a potential quarter final.
