FC Dallas announced today that homegrown striker Jesus Ferreira underwent a successful Core Muscle Repair procedure yesterday at Vincera Institute in Philadelphia, Pa. FC Dallas has called the procedure "successful" and Ferreira is expected to return in four-to-five weeks.
Ferreira had been struggling with some discomfort in his core that Head Coach Oscar Pareja had deemed as potentially stemming from overwork in spring training. The club had shut down Ferreira last week with worry over the player's continued discomfort in that area.
This injury is sometimes more commonly called a sports hernia.
