Fort Worth Vaqueros name Nick Stavrou new coach

Former Dallas Sidekicks player and assistant coach Nick Stavrou has been named Vaqueros head coach of their NPSL side for the 2017 season.

Stavrou won three national championships, scored 242 goals, added 197 assists and appeared in 381 matches during his storied playing career with the Sidekicks.

Stavrou has served as an assistant with the Sidekicks and at Texas Woman's University. Additionally, he has coached locally for 23 years with Dallas Solar and the Dallas Texans.

"I would firstly like to thank Michael (Hitchcock), Brian (Miller) and Tobias (Lopez) for affording me the opportunity to lead the Vaqueros for this upcoming season," Stavrou said.
