The Fort Worth Vaqueros travel to West Texas Saturday with a chance to advance further than they have in their history as they take on the top-seeded Midland-Odessa Sockers FC at 7:15 pm at Grande Communications Stadium.
The North Texas club earned their spot in the Lone Star Conference final by defeating the Denton Diablos Thursday night in the eighth round of kicks from the mark after both teams had played to a 1-1 tie after regulation play and a scoreless extra time. Through five rounds, the teams were still even at 3-3 and matched each other by both scoring in the sixth round and then not scoring in the seventh.
