In a game that mattered little beyond the final Group A standings, FC Dallas dropped their last opening round game to the other undefeated team in their group, West Ham, by a 2-1 scoreline. With strong winds, West Ham used a bunker and counter strategy to good effect scoring twice against the run of play.

Dallas dominated possession and most of the game was played in the West Ham end. But two defensive break downs on the counter allowed West Ham to play old school route 1 counter attacks for the goals.
