FC Dallas kicked off the Generation adidas Cup with a 1-0 win over the New York Red Bulls in the Champions Division Group A.
Saturday's stormy weather postponed what should have been Dallas' opening fixture against Premier League side West Ham United. Instead, as the Hammers also recorded a 1-0 against Club America, the weather may have set up a fantastic group finale on Monday afternoon.
Dallas came into the game without some of its bigger names. Ricardo Pepi - fresh off a game winning goal in last night's North Texas SC game - was in street clothes as he supported the players from the bench.
