FRISCO -- FC Dallas secured the 300th MLS win in franchise history, rolling past its old rival the Chicago Fire 3-1 on Saturday at Toyota Stadium.
The win keeps FCD atop the Western Conference standings and earned back the Brimstone Cup rivalry trophy that supporters of the teams created in 2001. It also kept FCD unbeaten at home this season.
Coach Oscar Pareja, who played in several Brimstone Cup matches and has coached in many more, said the rivalry win plus a visit from the son of his late teammate and club legend Bobby Rhine helped make Saturday a night he will remember even if it's only a midseason victory.
