When FC Dallas takes the field to face the Vancouver Whitecaps it will do so with a pair of All-Stars in its midst. Both center back Matt Hedges and midfielder Paxton Pomykal are on the team that will face Atletico Madrid on August 1 in Orlando.
Hedges was selected for the squad by Orlando City coach James O'Connor, who will manage MLS, while Pomykal was one of two players added to the roster by commissioner Don Garber.
"Confused a little bit, to be honest," said Pomykal, upon learning of his addition to the roster. "That's very surprising for me, but I'm obviously happy and excited.
