FC Dallas got goals from newcomers Franco Jara and Andres Ricaurte to help propel them in a 2-1 win over their Texas Derby rivals, Houston Dynamo.
It was a sluggish first half until the ridiculous goal from Ricuarte in the 28th minute. Jara attempted to get the ball into the Houston penalty box but was denied by a Dynamo defender. As the ball was played out of the penalty box, another Dynamo player attempted to clear the ball but only as far as Ricuarte who whipped in a left-footed volley from 30 yards out to beat the Houston keeper Marco Maric.
