FRISCO -- FC Dallas' match against the Houston Dynamo on Thursday night at Toyota Stadium was suspended after just 4 minutes because of heavy rain and a flooded field.
Houston and FCD started the game at 8:08 p.m. during a downpour, producing comic scenes of players sliding on the waterlogged field and the ball sticking to the turf like Velcro.
By 8:12, referee Kevin Stott had seen enough and suspended play with the game still scoreless.
Stadium staff spent much of the next nearly two hours using squeegees to remove excess water from the field.
