Carlos Avilez has carried on a run of FC Dallas goalkeepers winning silverware with the Mexican U20 national team, as El Tri won the Suwon JS Cup in Korea. The competition is a league format, with Mexico in third place coming into the final day before a 4-1 win over South Korea propelled them past both the hosts and Morocco.
The team will move on to a camp in the US, with games against Notre Dame and the University of Indiana. The 19-year-old is the only member of the team to be based outside of Mexico.
Avilez is currently signed to a USL contract with FC Dallas, allowing the team to retain homegrown rights without giving up a spot on the MLS roster.
