Three American youth soccer clubs filed a class action lawsuit against the MLS Players Union, current and former MLS players and the defendant class in a Texas federal court Friday in an attempt to retrieve hundreds of thousands of dollars in training and solidarity fees, according to a VICE Sports report.
The players named are DeAndre Yedlin, Michael Bradley and Clint Dempsey, and their former youth teams -- the Dallas Texans (Dempsey); Sockers FC of Chicago (Bradley); and Crossfire Premiere of Redmond, Washington (Yedlin) -- see a declaratory judgement from the court that allows them and other American youth teams to collect fees for the international transfer of American players.
