Short wait for Day on Day 3

In his four years at Notre Dame, Sheldon Day started 32 games. He totaled 32 tackles for loss in his career. Of his 141 career tackles, 22.6 percent were behind the line of scrimmage.

Sheldon Day, the mainstay and driving force along Notre Dame’s defensive line for the past two seasons, will be taking his fast-running motor and gap-creasing skills to the AFC South.

The 6-foot-1, 293-pound Indianapolis product was the only Notre Dame “disappointment” from the first two days of the draft as six of the seven first-through-third round draft projections were selected.

Day spilled over to Day Three mainly due to a glut of interior defensive line prospects in this year’s NFL draft.
