It can be hard to forget about Week 1. After all, it represents 100% of the season to date. That’s a big number. Totality can be overwhelming. As easy as it is to counsel people to not overreact to one week, it remains an understandable impulse to indulge.
With that, I want to talk about Matthew Stafford. Few players in the league had a worse Week 1. He threw four picks. His team got blown out. At home. By the Jets. He got knocked around, missing a few plays after getting kicked in the leg and taking a huge shot to the sternum, and eventually gave way to Matt Cassel.
