The Cleveland Browns have named Robert Griffin III their starting quarterback. He has beaten out veteran Josh McCown and rookie Cody Kessler for the job. RG3 will be the team's Week 1 starter and head coach Hue Jackson believed this was the right time for the announcement and Griffin has earned it.
"It's time. Robert has earned the right to be named the starting quarterback of the Cleveland Browns," Jackson said. "Since he was signed back in March, Robert has made it clear through his actions that he is willing to do everything that has been asked of him to earn this role.
