Quarterback Tom Brady was on fire. Brady hit Julian Edelman three times for 52 yards. On the last catch, Edelman planted his foot and instantly went down on a noncontact injury. Edelman then limped off the field. After an MRI on his knee, it was confirmed Edelman suffered an ACL tear and may be out for the season.
Edelman has been a constant reliable target for Brady in the past years. Edelman earned more than nine targets per game over the last four seasons and he averaged more than 11 yards per catch the past five years.
