The Washington Redskins have had to bide their time, but things might finally be looking up for their 2016 first-round pick, wide receiver Josh Doctson.
According to Washington Post Redskins beat writer Mike Jones, Doctson has been displaying the tools that it takes to be a successful NFL receiver.
Jones said, “In addition to his size, Doctson displayed great footwork at the line (juking cornerback Bashaud Breeland), crisp route-running which enabled him to create separation, and good hands.”
Doctson’ athleticism and physical attributes are what made him an enticing draft pick. However, it’s things like footwork and route running that takes receivers to the next level.
