On Monday, the Buffalo Bills announced that they signed veteran free agent wide receiver Anquan Boldin. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the deal is for one year and $2.75 million. There is another possible $1.25 million in incentives.
Boldin played with Buffalo’s starting quarterback, Tyrod Taylor, with the Baltimore Ravens back from 2011-’12.
This is the 36-year-old Boldin’s 15th NFL season, and while he obviously no longer has all of the physical skills that he once had, that is never what made him a good receiver. He is mentally sharp as a whip, and his lack of speed was made up for with tremendous mechanical savvy and route-running.
