Fantasy Football RB Rankings: Week 8

The running back group is thin this year, meaning you might be in a tough spot at times this season. At least you have my rankings to help you out. The byes do some damage, but you should be okay this week. I list the top 45, because beyond that, there aren't many players worth owning.

Byes: New York Giants & San Francisco 49ers

Last Update: Oct. 25

Other Rankings: QB, RB, WR, TE, DEF

Rank & Player Opponent Notes
1. DeMarco Murray, DAL WAS Of course you're playing Murray.
2. Matt Forte, CHI @NE Three straight 20-plus point weeks? Yeah, I'd recommend playing Forte.
3. Le'Veon Bell, PIT IND Bell has been killing it. Keep playing him.
4. Jamaal Charles, KC STL Not an ideal matchup, but Charles is still a stud.
5. Arian Foster, HOU @TEN Foster has played amazing when healthy.
6. Andre Ellington, ARI PHI ESPN Fantasy told me to bench Ellington for Trent Richardson. HAHAHA.
7. Marshawn Lynch, SEA @CAR Despite back-to-back six point weeks, you can't sit Lynch.
8. LeSean McCoy, PHI @ARI The touches are there. The fantasy points will come soon. Sadly, this is a tough matchup
9. Lamar Miller, MIA @JAC No Moreno is great for Miller.
10. Ben Tate, CLE PIT Tate struggled last week, but has a good matchup.
11. Gio Bernard, CIN BAL Bernard was awful last week and has a tough matchup, but he's still worth playing.
12. Eddie Lacy, GB @NO His usage isn't as high as it should be, but he's still worth starting.
13. Joique Bell, DET @ATL Bell has a great matchup this week.
14. Ronnie Hillman, DEN SD ESPN projected four points last week for Hillman. He sure showed them. UPDATE: A 12-point effort is good enough.
15. Shane Vereen, NE CHI No Ridley means Vereen's usage is going way up.
16. Justin Forsett, BAL @CIN Forsett looks like the Ravens' lead back.
17. Jerick McKinnon, MIN @TB Good matchup this week for McKinnon.
18. Ahmad Bradshaw, IND @PIT Bradshaw has been playing great so far.
19. Branden Oliver, SD @DEN Oliver was mediocre last week and has a tough matchup. UPDATE: A disappointing five point effort from Oliver.
20. Alfred Morris, WAS @DAL Morris has really struggled the past three weeks.
21. Darren McFadden, OAK @CLE McFadden is the starter and has looked better each week. He's got a good matchup.
22. Mark Ingram, NO GB Ingram is back and healthy. But I'd recommend waiting to play him if you can.
23. Tre Mason, STL SF Welp, looks like Mason is the Rams' new starter. Sign him if you can, despite the tough matchup.
24. Chris Ivory, NYJ SD Ivory gets a sizable amount of touches, but he's a plodder who needs TDs to be an effective fantasy playe.
25. Doug Martin, TB MIN Martin hasn't done much so far.
26. Reggie Bush, DET @ATL Bush has been playing some, but Bell has been get more touches. UPDATE: I don't think Bush will be able to play.
27. Denard Robinson, JAC MIA I never though I'd see Denard Robinson having a big fantasy football day.
28. Bishop Sankey, TEN HOU Sankey is getting the touches, but needs to start producing.
29. Trent Richardson, IND @PIT Richardson has looked like a complete bust. UPDATE: He might not be able to go Sunday.
30. Anthony Dixon, BUF NE Dixon is the starter (for now), but the Jets' are very good against the run.
31. Isaiah Crowell, CLE OAK Crowell is the main backup behind Ben Tate.
32. Jonathan Stewart, CAR SEA Stewart is back and the starter. I still would't play him.
33. Steven Jackson, ATL DET Jackson's value comes from touchdowns and he has a terrible matchup.
34. James Starks, GB @NO Starks is getting touches, but not enough to merit starting.
35. Darren Sproles, PHI - ARI Sproles is coming off an injury, but he did practice Tuesday.
36. Jeremy Hill, CIN BAL He's a handcuff for Bernard. He does vulture a few touchdowns though.
37. Bryce Brown, BUF @NYJ I think Brown will eventually be the Bills' lead back.
38. Bobby Rainey, TB MIN I could see Rainey surpassing Martin at some point.
39. Khiry Robinson, NO GB With Ingram back, Robinson's value plummets.
40. Travaris Cadet, NO GB Cadet has passed Pierre Thomas as the Saints' go-to pass catching tailback. He is only worth a look in PPR formats though.
41. Bernard Pierce, BAL @CIN Pierce has become nothing but a touchdown vulture.
42. Stepfan Taylor, ARI PHI Taylor is stealing goal line looks from Ellington.
43. Chris Johnson, NYJ SD Don't even think about it.
44. Roy Helu, WAS @DAL He's a decent backup in PPR, but not so much in standard leagues.
45. Matt Asiata, MIN @TB If you signed Asiata, hopefully you got McKinnon too.
